The annual winter formal, which takes place before the first semester ends, is a highly anticipated dance at PCO. This event welcomes all the grades to attend, giving them the opportunity to make new memories, get dressed up, and end the semester with a bang before the year ends.
Planning and decorating for the dance takes time, effort, and commitment. The winter formal committee makes sure everything is perfect, from the atmosphere to the music. It is important that everyone has a great time. Nights like these are always fun to look forward to and even to look back on.
“The dance was very joyful. There were a lot of people dancing and having fun. The pictures made it more fun because it saves your memories and you can look back at it and see your high school years,” freshman Ashley Aguilar said.
The winter formal is about making memories, meeting new people and just having fun. It is a way to enjoy the school atmosphere, but without having the stress of a school day.
“The Winter in Paris theme was definitely there. I would recommend a freshman to go because it’s a lot of fun and enjoyable. The most memorable moment of the night for me was dancing with everyone,” sophomore Natalie Tomlin said.
This was a night filled with fun, music and nostalgia for many students. The music is an important aspect of what the attendees enjoy.
“My favorite part about the winter formal was the music we listened to. It really channeled my inner kid and made me have fun that night,” junior Marcello McCoo said.
Winter formal is a good way to encourage friends to have fun and dance the night away. It is made for a relaxed atmosphere and to allow the students to get out of their comfort zones.
“One of my friends pulled me to the dance floor and was like “you got to dance to this song! Sam, come on!” That was really fun and also teaching one of my friends the cupid shuffle,” senior Samantha Parker said.
