AFJROTC offers students a year full of excitement and challenges. It gets everyone ready for being a better citizen and helps each one gain confidence.
JROTC allows students to prepare for their future by giving back to the community. These opportunities can become memorable high school experiences.
“My favorite thing is working at the OU home football games and getting work experience while also becoming closer to my classmates,” freshman Kynnadee Brummett said.
Being a part of the JROTC community is intense and important. Even when it is fun, students always focus on the task.
“I think the most challenging part of JROTC is putting in the effort. If you just focus and pay attention the class becomes really easy and fun,” sophomore Andrew Lindley said.
JROTC provides high school students with leadership skills and discipline, which can help them prepare for college. Many universities and organizations offer scholarships to JROTC students, recognizing their commitment, resilience, and potential for future service.
“There are plenty of scholarships and plenty of opportunities to get noticed by the people that matter and get experiences that look good on a resume,” junior Joseph Thomas said
While being a JROTC member, relationships start to grow. As they become close to one another, memories are built for a lifetime.
“It feels like a big family a lot of the time. I’ve also gained leadership skills and learned better communication skills. It’s something I will always remember,” senior Andrew Grier said.
