Marching Musicians of PCO

Band is a way that students can express their feelings through music. Throughout their time in band, students meet new people, play all types of breathtaking music, and build memories that last a lifetime.

Having something that can impact a life so much is a great way to work through life’s ups and downs. Band has become a hugs part of these students’ lives and they are happy that they joined.

“I first joined band when I was in 6th grade. It was really scary. I never knew anything about band beforehand. I just joined it on a whim. I think it was one of the best things that has ever happened to me in my life,” freshman Jonah White said.

Having an environment that cares about them and makes them feel welcomed is an important part of band. Over time they get the opportunity to build connections and get close to their peers. Students consider their classmates as family.
“Band allows students to build a sense of community with one another. This sense of community lets students be more open to each other, and facilitate an environment of excellent understanding. I love how you can be important in something so small,” junior Giovanni Paz said.

The Band is a core part of the student body’s school spirit. Without it, no one would want to participate. The band’s music helps invigorate the students, and hypes them up to cheer on their school.

“The band plays the school’s melodies, and it’s the soul of our school’s spirit. I’m thankful that I can be a part of that,” sophomore Le Lam said.

Being very welcoming and always accepting new students is something that band does. Being in a band requires a lot of hard work and dedication. Band members work hard and are proud of the accomplishments they have made.

“Band is a serious thing that should be taken seriously and not just something to goof around in. If you really want to make this your thing you must learn to discipline yourself,” junior Charesse Reese said.
