There are around 185 school days in one school year. Throughout those days, many memories are made inside and outside of the school, especially senior year. As the class of 2025 prepares for the next chapter of their lives, many take time to reflect on these memories.
Putnam City High school has many talented students, and a lot are recognized for their achievements. These accomplishments, whether awarded, or just personal milestones, are important memories worth remembering.
“I recently found out that I won the Oklahoma Education Award for Arts Excellence in both theater and dance which was really exciting,” senior Samantha Parker said.
Participating in school activities, like plays or musicals can lead to lifelong impressions and leave a lasting impact on both performers and the audience.
“I really enjoyed participating in the Little Mermaid, because we came a long way from where we started. We were struggling at the start, and lost one of our lead roles, but a couple days before the show, everything started piecing together and pulled we it off,” senior Dyrelynn Denson said.
A lot of the greatest memories can be made outside of school. It allows students to meet new people, gain experience outside of the classroom, and get a head start on their future careers.
“My favorite senior memory has been participating in the OKCine Latino Film Festival, it was a collaboration involving many talented young workers in film and great cast and crew,” senior Griffin Edge said.
The Putnam City boys basketball team made it to playoffs, and despite being behind, the players held strong and worked hard.
“My favorite memory has been playing in the playoffs for basketball. We were down seven with about a minute to go, and we came back when nobody thought we could,” senior Kelton Locke said.
