Stagecrafts is a class at PCO that focuses on the production and technical side of theater. It helps kids develop basic carpeting skills, and allows them to do more hands-on work.

“Stagecrafts is just a really fun class that doesn’t even feel like school,” freshman Caleb Cobb siad.

At first, most students may not think Stagecrafts is for them, but often students are also proved wrong. Students that take Stagecrafts mostly find themselves loving it, and being interested in what is being taught.

“Stagecrafts challenges me to go out of my comfort zone, and do something I never realized I loved,” sophomore Vicinte Galvan said.

Students in Stagecrafts also play a vital role in the school’s theater productions. Getting to build the sets, make props, and work on tech is just a few of the myriad of things students get to participate in.

“My favorite thing about Stagecrafts is getting to see how the plays are produced, and be able to play a part of putting them together,” senior Maci Billesbach said.

Stagecrafts also do more than just work on the plays; they work on every event in the auditorium. Students get to assist in school events, such as the 12 Days Assembly, class meetings, and any student organization events.

“Being in Stagecrafts is very rewarding, because you get to help out for the events students like,” junior Harley Lute said.
